Relations with International Organizations
The Information Technologies and Communications Authority, established in our country to create a competitive and advanced telecommunications sector, attaches great importance to international relations in order to effectively and efficiently monitor developments in the sector in today's world of rapid globalization. The telecommunications world, which advances at a dizzying speed that even those within the sector struggle to keep up with, inherently necessitates international relations.
Thanks to its geopolitical and geostrategic position, our country, situated at the crossroads of civilizations, serves as a bridge between Asia and Europe—or in other words, between East and West—in the field of electronic communications, just as in many other areas. In line with this position, our country participates in major projects launched on regional and global scales. Since its establishment, the Information Technologies and Communications Authority has been taking part in the activities of all major international organizations, primarily the European Union, as well as the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT), the Universal Postal Union (UPU), and the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), and plans to add new projects to the existing bilateral relations in the telecommunications field with countries that share historical and geographical proximity with our country.
