History
The Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) is the institution that regulates and supervises the telecommunications sector in Turkey. It is Turkey's first sectoral regulatory authority.
The "Telecommunications Authority" was established by Law No. 4502 dated January 27, 2000, which amended the Radio Law No. 2813 dated April 5, 1983. With Law No. 5809 dated November 10, 2008, on Electronic Communications, the name of the institution was changed to Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
