Duties of the Spectrum Monitoring Directorate Presidency

• To control the installation and operation of licensed or permitted radio devices or systems in accordance with the specified techniques and procedures.
  
• To monitor and supervise the frequency spectrum, make regulations related thereto, take necessary measures, and impose sanctions.
• To detect and terminate illegal broadcasts in radio communications, and to ensure that necessary measures are taken by detecting unauthorized broadcasts and electromagnetic interferences.
• To establish and operate, or ensure the establishment and operation of, all kinds of vehicles, devices, and systems, including the national monitor system, in appropriate places and within the framework of legislation, in order to carry out national and international spectrum monitoring and supervision activities, and to participate in works in coordination with national and international organizations when necessary.
• To take security and protection measures for all vehicles, devices, systems, and facilities used in the Institution's spectrum monitoring and supervision activities when deemed necessary.
• To cooperate with relevant security units, when necessary, within the framework of existing legislation on radio communication matters concerning state and personal security.
• To make technical regulations regarding coverage areas and service quality for mobile electronic communication services and infrastructures, to monitor or have monitored compliance with these regulations, and to determine the procedures and principles regarding the technical criteria to be used in these audits and their measurement.
• To determine the procedures and principles regarding the design, installation, and sharing of common antenna systems to be established, including antenna facilities and radio and television broadcasts in electronic communication systems.
  
• By taking into account the standard values determined by national and international organizations, to ensure the determination of electromagnetic field strength limit values to be complied with in the use of radio devices and systems, the control and supervision thereof and/or having them done, the granting of measurement and supervision authorities, and the issuance of safety certificates for relevant facilities found to comply with limit values and safety distances.
• To keep, report, and submit to relevant places the statistics and records regarding the activities of regional directorates.
• To perform other duties assigned by the President.
