What is Authorization?
Authorization refers to the registration of companies with the Authority for the purpose of providing electronic communication services and/or electronic communication networks, or the granting of specific rights and obligations peculiar to electronic communication services to these companies upon their registration.
In accordance with Law No. 5809 on Electronic Communications, taking into account the Ministry's strategies and policies regarding electronic communications, making regulations on authorization and issuing related secondary regulations are among the duties of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
In the electronic communications sector, authorization primarily aims at;
- Increasing the number of players in the sector to create a competitive environment,
- Establishing a secure environment in the sector,
- Encouraging domestic and foreign investment,
- Ensuring the healthy development of the sector,
- Efficient and effective use of national resources,
- Widespread provision of services,
- Ensuring the provision of services with a certain quality to consumers,
- Protecting consumers.
