Duties of the Information Technologies Directorate Presidency

Within the framework of the Electronic Signature Law dated 15/1/2004 and numbered 5070, to make secondary regulations, to examine notifications of electronic certificate service providers, and to carry out inspection activities towards service providers.
To conduct studies regarding the dissemination of electronic signatures and the establishment of sustainable competition in the relevant market.
To conduct studies on registered electronic mail that enables legally valid and technically secure electronic mail communication.
To conduct studies covering communication, network, and data security in the sector in order to ensure security in the electronic environment, and to carry out regulation and supervision activities.
When necessary, to make regulations on critical internet resources including internet domain names and protocol addresses, to carry out inspection activities in accordance with the regulations, and to conduct other necessary studies on these matters.
To monitor the development of information technologies and electronic applications, to conduct studies in line with these developments, and, if necessary, to develop proposals on legal, technical, and administrative matters regarding the works and procedures to be carried out in our country.
Within the framework of relevant legislation, to monitor studies carried out for the transformation into an information society, to contribute to these studies, and to coordinate the works to be carried out within the Institution and in the sector in line with these studies.
To make regulations regarding the provision of information technology services related to the Institution's field of duty.
To make regulations regarding devices containing electronic identity information.
To conduct research on the potential social, cultural, psychological, and similar effects of the internet on society and to take necessary measures in this regard.
To perform other duties assigned by the President.
