Tariff Adjustments for End Users
Regulating the fees paid by consumers for access to electronic communication services, which are indispensable from the perspectives of both society and individuals, holds great importance for ensuring effective and sustainable competition in the market as well as for protecting consumer rights. In this context, the tariffs applied by operators to end-users (at the retail level) are regulated, monitored, and supervised by our Institution within the framework of relevant legislation, primarily Law No. 5809 on Electronic Communications Law (ECL), the Tariff Regulation, and other related regulations.
In the ECL, it is observed that the principles to be followed by our Institution in establishing the legal framework for tariffs are fundamentally determined with a view to protecting competition and consumer interests. Additionally, operators are granted the freedom by the ECL to determine the tariffs they will apply, provided that they do not contradict the relevant legislation and Institution regulations.
In summary, tariffs, as a key element of electronic communication services, are applied by operators under commercial freedom within the framework of the rules set by our Institution.
