Services Subject to Authorization
All of the following functions defined in Law No. 5809 on Electronic Communications can be carried out by obtaining authorization from the Authority:
Electronic communications: the transmission, sending, and reception of every kind of sign, symbol, sound, image, and data that can be converted into electrical signals by means of cable, radio, optical, electric, magnetic, electromagnetic, electrochemical, electromechanical, and other transmission systems
Electronic communications infrastructure: all network elements, including switching equipment, hardware and software through or by means of which electronic communications are carried out, terminals and lines, related facilities, and their integral parts
Operation of electronic communications infrastructure: the establishment, having established, renting, or otherwise procuring the necessary electronic communications facilities related to the relevant infrastructure, and making such facilities available for use by other operators or real or legal persons requesting them
Electronic communications service: the provision as a service of part or all of the activities falling within the definition of electronic communications
Electronic communications network: any transmission systems network, including switching equipment and lines, which constitutes the connection between points for the provision of electronic communications between one or more points
