End-User Tariffs for Internet Access
Currently, retail-level internet access services to end users are provided by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) authorized by our Institution to offer Internet Service Provider services, and within the framework of the current legislation, Türk Telekom cannot provide direct internet access services to end users.
In DSL technology as well, the portion of Türk Telekom's fixed telephone network consisting of copper cables extending to homes, referred to as the "local loop," is used to establish the connection between the subscriber and the ISP. Therefore, ISPs utilize Türk Telekom's infrastructure to provide ADSL internet access services to their own users, in other words, they purchase wholesale-level services from Türk Telekom. Türk Telekom's wholesale-level internet access tariffs for ISPs are subject to the approval of our Institution. However, the fees that ISPs charge for the retail-level internet access services they provide to end users are not subject to the approval of our Institution in accordance with the EHK and relevant legislation.
