Cybersecurity Drills

Among the most important works conducted by BTK regarding cybersecurity are cybersecurity exercises. Cybersecurity exercises hold an important place in efforts aimed at ensuring cybersecurity, including the development of expertise levels, implementation of information security standards, and user training, as well as in studies aimed at increasing awareness in cybersecurity.

The purpose of cybersecurity exercises is;

  • To develop participants' abilities to counter cyber attacks,
  • To develop participants' intra-institutional and inter-institutional coordination against cyber attacks, and
  • To increase the national awareness level in cybersecurity.

As significant steps taken to enhance preparedness levels and incident response capabilities for cyber incidents both in our institutions and organizations and at the national level, 7 national and 2 international cybersecurity exercises have been conducted since 2011 under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. Our country continues to participate and contribute to various international cybersecurity exercises such as NATO Locked Shields (Locked Shields), NATO Cyber Coalition (Cyber Coalition), and NATO Crisis Management Exercise. The SOME Training and Consultation Meeting and National Cyber Shield 2022 Exercise were held on October 11-12, 2022, under the coordination of our Ministry and hosted by BTK. The exercise was attended by 180 participants from 50 institutions and organizations, along with numerous guests. Additionally, the Financial Sector Cyber Shield Exercise, conducted on October 20-21, 2022, under the coordination of our Ministry and hosted by BTK, was completed with 133 participants from 40 institutions and organizations and many guests.
