The Information Technologies and Communication Authority hosted refugee and orphan children at an iftar program organized through the Guest Association and with contributions from Türk Telekom.
The iftar, hosted by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, was attended by AK Party Deputy Chairman Ahmet Sorgun, Chairman Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Türk Telekom Deputy General Manager Ümit Önal, Guest Association Manager Uğur Eleman, Syrian, Palestinian, African, and Turkmen orphan children, agency employees, and guests.
Beginning his speech by expressing his pleasure at hosting such an event, Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan said, “I greet you all with respect and affection at this iftar program where we feel the spirit of unity and togetherness of Ramadan. I thank each of you individually for accepting our invitation. I congratulate you on the blessed Ramadan Sharif, during which our holy book, the Quran, which guides all humanity on the right path, was revealed, and I wish to attain its blessings. I pray to Allah that this blessed month, most of which we have left behind, and the Night of Power bring goodness to our country and nation.”
Expressing his wish to reach Ramadan Bayram with health and well-being, Sayan stated, “I also pray to the Almighty for help to our Muslim brothers who are forced to spend these days under oppression in the Islamic geography. I want to express my pleasure at the presence here of my refugee and orphan brothers from countries like Palestine, Syria, and Africa. Breaking the fast with you here is very valuable to us. You have taken refuge in our country from those difficult conditions in your countries. Ensuring that you live a comfortable and safe life here is very important to us. You are trusts from Almighty Allah to our country. I assure you that you are no different from our own children and that you will live with the confidence and peace of this.”
Guest Association President Uğur Eleman, who expressed his satisfaction with the organization of such a program, said, “We are one of the most important representatives of the civilization of migration. You cannot find the affection, love, and brotherhood sought all over the world anywhere else but in Anatolia. More than 5 million refugees live in Anatolia with love and affection.”
AK Party Deputy Chairman Ahmet Sorgun, who emphasized that children are the most important guarantee of the future, said, “We are in a place where our future is planned. Our duty is to elevate their value. If we manage change, we manage the future. This is also an institution that directs the future. We must work harder so that there are no orphan and destitute children anywhere in the world.”
Following the speeches, protocol members distributed laptops, bicycles, and various gifts to the children. More than a hundred refugee children left the program happily.
