BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, who made a statement about the referendum at the Mobile World Congress, stated that they had warned social media companies about fake news and manipulations as they entered the referendum process, saying, "We will follow the process."
BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan held meetings at the Mobile World Congress with managers of social media platforms, operators, and companies under the chairmanship of Suat Hayri Aka, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication.

Expressing that ensuring uninterrupted and continuous communication infrastructure during the referendum process is very important, Sayan said, "At this point, we asked operators and social media platforms to exercise the necessary care to take the required measures. We warned social media platforms to take the necessary measures in terms of continuing cooperation with Turkey, distinguishing 'fake news,' and preventing manipulation. They also informed us that they are aware of this critical period and will do their best."

Sayan stated that they have conducted the necessary work through operators for uninterrupted and healthy communication during the referendum to be held on April 16, saying, "As in all election periods, we will establish a crisis center to ensure uninterrupted communication during the referendum process. No significant incidents have occurred so far, and we are taking the necessary measures to prevent any in this election as well."
