Under the auspices of our Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication held an introduction meeting in Ankara for the “2016-2019 National e-Government Strategy and Action Plan” and the “2016-2019 National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan”.
The meeting was attended by Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication Minister Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Faruk Çelik, Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya, BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, BTK Board Member Musa Şahin, as well as many high-level officials from the sector.
Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication Minister Ahmet Arslan stated in his speech that the purpose of the National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan is to establish the understanding that cyber security is an inseparable part of national security across all segments of society.
Stating that the 2016-2019 National e-Government Strategy and Action Plan, prepared for the first time in Turkey with national resources, was completed in 18 months, Arslan expressed that as a result of the studies, the vision of “improving the quality of life of society with effective e-Government” was put forward, and a strategy and action plan consisting of 4 strategic objectives, 13 targets, and 43 actions emerged.
Arslan said, "It can be defined as guiding Turkey's digital transformation, accelerating its social, economic, and environmental development, creating the necessary capabilities in line with Turkey's 2023 national targets, and creating a leverage effect for the country's welfare in line with the determined objectives, targets, and actions. With the prepared strategy and action plan, it is aimed to reach an important stage in digital transformation by the end of 2019."
Explaining that the purpose of the 2016-2019 National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan, which determines the path Turkey will follow in cyber security over the next 4 years, is to establish the understanding that cyber security is an inseparable part of national security across all segments, and to fully acquire the competence to take administrative and technological measures to ensure the security of all systems and stakeholders in the national cyber space, Arslan noted that the strategy and action plan consists of 5 main actions and 41 sub-actions.
