The Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK), hosted by Öz İletişim-İş Union, signed the "Collective Bargaining Agreement 2nd Additional Protocol."
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu also attended the signing ceremony. Karaismailoğlu stated that the additional protocol includes improvements in wages and social rights for workers serving under BTK. Explaining that they did not let workers be crushed by inflation, Karaismailoğlu announced that they demonstrated the stance they hold as the Ministry through the agreements renewed this year with the workers in their organization.
Expressing that the collective bargaining agreements signed by the Ministry are examples of the social state approach, Karaismailoğlu stated that they are working to ensure that the increasing welfare with Turkey's growth reaches every household, that they are building roads and bridges, developing railways, and waging a national struggle to place Turkey among the world's top 10 economies.
Pointing out that they have also prepared Turkey for a new era in terms of communication and information competencies, Karaismailoğlu said, "By providing the infrastructure for technologies developing at a dizzying pace, we are offering services beyond the age to our nation's use."
Drawing attention to the fact that, just like in every mode of transportation, the development in the communication and informatics sector has gained great momentum since 2003, Karaismailoğlu provided information about investments made in the informatics sector.
Defining their goals in the informatics field as "not following technological developments, but leading them," Karaismailoğlu said that especially with 5G technologies, they will raise the domestic and national ratios in the sector much higher.
Stating that they have confirmed the trust in Turkey with new investment news, Karaismailoğlu said that the tender for Antalya Airport held last week has taken its place among good examples and demonstrates the trust of foreign investors in Turkey.
Emphasizing that this interest, agreement, and profit is a lesson for those who objected to the build-operate-transfer and public-private partnership models they have implemented so far with empty words, Karaismailoğlu thanked everyone, including the public sector, real sector, employers, and workers, for their contributions to these successes.
Deputy Minister Sayan: Workers Should Receive the Wages They Deserve
Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Ömer Fatih Sayan also stated that their aim is for workers to receive the wages they deserve, saying, "With the scale created and the raises given, these improvements made in favor of our employees have been arranged to be paid with the November salary. As of yesterday, they received their raised salaries."
Conveying that as a country, they are advancing on the path to a stronger Turkey with domestic and national production in every field, Sayan emphasized that increasing production and employment has always been their priority.
Explaining that peace, happiness, and high motivation in the work environment are factors that directly affect productivity, Sayan said, "As a strong and great Ministry and BTK, we are working with all our might to provide the best conditions to our employees in every respect."
President Karagözoğlu: Our Fundamental Goal is to Take Our Country to Even Better Points
BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu also stated that their most important capital as an institution is human resources, saying, "Our fundamental goal is to take our country to even better points in the field of information and communication technologies with all our employees who contribute with the sweat of their brow and the sweat of their minds."
Stating that the labor and painstaking effort of employees are in every job done, Karagözoğlu wished the agreement to be beneficial for the employees and the national economy.
Following the speeches, the "Collective Bargaining Agreement 2nd Additional Protocol" was signed between BTK and Öz İletişim-İş Union.
