Information Technologies and Communication Authority President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu spoke at the artificial intelligence session organized by the Turkish Informatics Association (TBD) within the scope of the Public-BIB'23-BIMY'27 Integrated Event.
Stating that these technologies are developing at a dizzying speed, Karagözoğlu announced that information technologies have become the biggest key for both companies and states to maintain their presence in the 21st century.
Karagözoğlu said, "One of the areas that attract attention and are frequently mentioned in developing information and communication technologies is undoubtedly artificial intelligence. The volume of data produced and processed today has reached enormous dimensions. Many institutions and organizations are making significant investments in the big data field. Future-oriented strategies are being determined in a data-driven manner. When the obtained data is combined with powerful analyses, it becomes meaningful and creates added value. The efficient and effective development of big data applications depends on artificial intelligence technology. Artificial intelligence enables us to establish relationships we cannot see in big data while providing definite results regarding targets; with the analysis of big data using artificial intelligence, solutions and services tailored to needs are produced."
Drawing attention to the utilization of artificial intelligence studies in many areas such as finance, meteorology, defense industry—primarily military services—health, insurance companies, computer games, banking and customer recognition systems, aviation, transportation, and more, Karagözoğlu stated: "In the very near future, we will use artificial intelligence technology in every field from medicine to transportation, from call center services to communication technologies, in a way that pushes the limits of the human mind. As BTK, we are striving to outline this vision through our technology, ecosystem, and support for domestic software to contribute to Turkey's transformation and achieve our 2023 targets. We are accelerating our efforts for our country to take its place in the global artificial intelligence market in the coming years. As a country with a growing economy and a software and cloud market potential of approximately 766 million dollars, we still have a long way to go in technology and software. We are working with this awareness."
