Public Informatics Association-organized Public Digital Transformation Summit was held under the auspices of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, who spoke at the opening of the summit, emphasized that public administration in the digital age has transformed into a structure that not only uses technology but also understands it correctly and converts it into benefits for society.
President Karagözoğlu said, “Digital transformation in the public sector means delivering public services faster, more transparently, and in a way that makes citizens' lives easier, using resources efficiently, and making decisions based on data.”
Drawing attention to the fact that digitalization fundamentally changes not only the delivery of public services but also the management approach, Karagözoğlu stated that data-driven decision-making mechanisms, inter-institutional integration, and infrastructures providing uninterrupted services are the key elements of this transformation.
In his speech, President Karagözoğlu stated that artificial intelligence technologies have become one of the most important enablers of digital transformation in the public sector, saying, “Artificial intelligence is no longer just a technology heading on its own; it is a complementary element that enhances service quality in public institutions, optimizes resource usage, and supports decision-making processes.”
Karagözoğlu, who noted that digital solutions developed in many areas from security to health, justice to education, transportation to agriculture increase the effectiveness of public services, said that digital analyses in the health sector provide support to physicians and decision support applications in justice services offer significant contributions in terms of time and accuracy.
President Karagözoğlu: Secure Digital Infrastructures Are Our Priority
Expressing that cyber threats have also increased with digitalization, Karagözoğlu emphasized that secure digital infrastructures and strong cyber security mechanisms are an inseparable part of the transformation.
Stating that BTK continues its efforts decisively to develop the cyber security ecosystem and support domestic and national solutions, Karagözoğlu said, “We are resolutely continuing our efforts to develop the cyber security ecosystem, support domestic and national solutions, and strengthen digital security. With the National Cyber Incident Response Center and Cyber Incident Response Teams, we continue to protect our cyber homeland 24/7. As BTK, we assume a regulatory and guiding role in a wide range of areas from electronic communications to cyber security, from data ecosystems to next-generation technologies; we support the establishment of secure, sustainable, and interoperable digital infrastructures in the public sector.”
