The first event of the “Future of Technology” webinar series, organized by Vodafone Business in collaboration with INBUSINESS Magazine, was held under the theme “The Key to Digital Transformation: Doing Business in the Cloud.” Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, also participated in the program.
In the webinar, the first of which was held under the theme “The Key to Digital Transformation: Doing Business in the Cloud,” the thoughts and experiences of sector stakeholders on cloud technologies—one of the most important keys to digital transformation—were shared. Deputy Minister Sayan, who participated in the event via video, stated that cloud computing, which has existed since the early days of emerging internet technology, has made business processes independent of time and place.
Sayan, who also shared information about the sector, said, “The cloud computing market is expected to rise from $445.3 billion in 2021 to $947.3 billion in 2026, while the global investment volume is projected to double and reach $800 billion by the end of 2025. Although the use of cloud computing technologies has increased further during the pandemic, this should not be viewed as a temporary effect.”
Reminding that our ways of doing business have also changed with the pandemic, Sayan stated, “Location-independent work, which reduces organizational costs and boosts employee productivity, is increasingly becoming a permanent part of our lives. We can say that future working life will not be tied to location. We also hear that companies which adopted the work-from-home model during the pandemic plan to continue it. Thanks to the opportunities provided by the cloud, we expect this system to reach a significant scale in Turkey as well.”
