Sayan, who also clarified the situation regarding banks, explained the matter as follows: “The situation with banks is related to SIM cards; each SIM card has the same phone number, but every SIM card has a separate number. When you change your SIM card, the bank only sends an SMS to that phone number but verifies it with the SIM card's number so that no one can copy your phone numbers. In this regard, since your SIM card has changed, you need to confirm to your bank that you have changed your SIM card. As BTK, we published a brochure where we compiled all our warnings regarding 4.5G. If the SIM card changes, confirmation from banks is essential—this is the first step. The second step is that we can set cellular data to select automatically, or you need to manually select from 4G, 4.5G, 3G, 2G. When you select 4.5G as LTE Advantage, it will automatically select the highest one available in the coverage area at that moment. Selecting LTE Advantage does not mean you won't benefit from 3G or 2G; you will continue to benefit from them as well.”
Emphasizing that consumers need to take certain steps during the transition to 4.5G, Sayan said, “The same procedure will apply to all operators. You need to become a 4.5G subscriber. Normally, this subscription was done by going to a subscriber center, sending an SMS, or calling the call center. To make it easier for our consumers, we made arrangements to facilitate the process for those who want to switch to 4.5G service so that they don't miss out on it, and those who don't want it won't automatically switch. Accordingly, we enable the transition through SMS to the consumer, call center via IVR (which is the automatic use of the call center), or flash SMS—some applications where they can respond 'yes' to switch to 4.5G or 'no' not to. Upon this, if the subscriber responds 'yes', they become a 4.5G subscriber as of that date. If after subscribing they say they want to go back, they return to 3G or 2G subscription in the same way.”
