
Information Technologies and Communication Authority hosted the 15th International Electronic Communications and Postal Regulators Conference, which concluded today after a two-day intensive program. The conference brought together more than 250 participants from 22 different countries, discussing critical topics on the digital transformation in the electronic communications and postal sectors.
BTK's Quarter-Century Emphasis and Call for Global Cooperation
BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, in his closing speech, highlighted the institution's 25th anniversary, emphasizing the importance of steadily guiding the sector and taking responsibility over 25 years in a world where technology changes at a dizzying pace. Karagözoğlu stated that the difficulty of this effort increases its value.
Throughout the conference, 33 competent speakers were hosted in five separate panels. In these sessions, topics such as "Digital Infrastructure and Regulatory Frameworks", "Rethinking Digitalization", "Security in Postal and Electronic Communications Sectors", "New Regulatory Perspectives in the Postal Sector", and "New Trends in Postal Services and Regulatory Expectations" were comprehensively evaluated. In all panels, it was emphasized that the electronic communications and postal sectors are at the center of a broad technological transformation ranging from cybersecurity to digital identity. Participants expressed that common problems and expectations are similar, and that meeting on common ground and exchanging ideas is highly valuable for thinking together about the future.
Karagözoğlu, emphasizing the critical role of international cooperation, said, "Problems do not recognize borders. Therefore, our solutions must go beyond borders. The era of acting alone is over. We are all in the same boat."
In this framework, speaking about the Memorandum of Understanding signed between BTK and Romania's regulatory authority ANCOM, Karagözoğlu stated that he finds the Memorandum of Understanding extremely valuable in terms of international solidarity, cooperation, and experience sharing.
BTK President Karagözoğlu concluded his speech by thanking all participants for their contributions, stating, “I hope that the ideas presented and discussions held in this conference will turn into concrete steps that shape our digital future together.”
