The event, organized in collaboration with BTK Academy, Google, and GirVak, was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, jury members, public and private sector representatives, and students passionate about data science.

Influenced by technologies such as the Internet of Things, the amount of data produced is expected to reach 175 Zettabytes in 2025. This situation clearly demonstrates the tremendous acceleration in information production.”
With the increase in data volume, data science has become an indispensable tool for the business world, society, and science today, Sayan expressed, adding, “Those who can use data science effectively can make more informed decisions and gain a competitive advantage in every aspect of life. Therefore, data science will form the foundation of practical life and innovation by being used more extensively in society and in various business fields in the future.”

Emphasizing that ensuring data security at the highest level is of critical importance in the environment of increasing speed and interaction, Sayan stated, “We view cybersecurity as a matter of national security. In this context, an important component of the cybersecurity activities conducted by our Ministry and our affiliated Institution BTK is USOM, the National Cyber Incident Response Center. With the effective efforts carried out under USOM, we protect our cyber homeland 24/7.”
