A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Information Technologies and Communication Authority and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) during our esteemed President's visit to India, by Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan and Indian Transport Minister Teatti Etti (Youth and Sports Minister Vijay Goel).
The Memorandum of Understanding envisages mutual cooperation between BTK and TRAI through the exchange of information, experience, and expertise on matters related to the electronic communications sector. In this scope, priority areas of cooperation have been identified as: management of numbering resources and number portability, carrier selection and pre-selection, local loop unbundling, tariffs, right of way, telecommunications policy and transparency efforts, infrastructure sharing and regulatory framework for smart cities, market surveillance and operator supervision, service quality, green ICT initiatives, consumer protection, machine-to-machine communications regulations, internet domain names, information security, Mobile Equipment Registration System, and promotion of technical innovations in the electronic communications field.
It is envisaged that the cooperation initiated between BTK and TRAI in the field of electronic communications regulations will be expanded and strengthened to include not only the institutions but also the private sector entities of the two countries.
