The 13th e-Turkey Awards, organized by the Turkey Informatics Foundation and TÜSİAD, found their owners at a ceremony held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The Information Technologies and Communication Authority's (BTK) Interactive Frequency Operations System Project (İFİS) won an award in the "e-Services from Public to Business World" category.
Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, received the award. The award was presented to Sayan jointly by TBMM Deputy Speaker Ahmet Aydın, Chairman of the Board of the Turkey Informatics Foundation Faruk Eczacıbaşı, and TÜSİAD Board Vice Chairman Ali Koç.
The e-Turkey Awards aim to highlight exemplary e-Government applications, introduce innovative initiatives to the public, support and encourage successful initiatives, and promote the widespread adoption of such applications. Out of the entries, 26 projects made it to the finals. At the award ceremony, awards were given to 6 projects selected by 16 jury members in categories for public institutions: "e-Services from Public to Business World," "e-Services from Public to Citizens," and "e-Services from Public to Public"; and for local governments: "Small-Scale Municipality," "Medium-Scale Municipality," and "Large-Scale Municipality."
İFİS has been providing services since 2012. Operators' initial applications to our Institution, revision applications, notifications of electromagnetic field measurements after system installations, are conducted online (https://ifis.btk.gov.tr/wmfys/) through this system by users with differentiated authorization types using e-signatures. Currently, Avea, Turkcell, Vodafone, and Türk Telekom operators are active users of the İFİS system. TRT has started using e-signatures as of 2016, and the İFİS integration processes are ongoing.
