An event on Base Station Field Security was organized under the auspices of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
The event was attended by BTK Deputy President Rıdvan Kahveci, Head of Gendarmerie General Command Security Department Gendarmerie Staff Colonel Nail İlbey, Head of Gendarmerie General Command Criminal Department Colonel Mustafa Mercan, and sector representatives.
In his opening speech at the program, BTK Deputy President Kahveci emphasized the great importance of providing electronic communication services in the best and uninterrupted manner in our country, as in the rest of the world. Reminding that an enormous infrastructure has been established nationwide for the provision of these services, Kahveci said, “BTK actively plays a role in every process from site selection for base stations to issuing security certificates, supervising unauthorized access, and maintaining electromagnetic field limit values. At the same time, BTK leads the development of fast and healthy inspection mechanisms without human intervention. At the forefront of these projects is the Measurement Tracking System we launched last December.”
Kahveci concluded his speech by saying, “I would like to state that the Information Technologies and Communication Authority not only updates its efforts to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of communication services in our country with the latest technological developments but also has a say in a very tight coordination network with its stakeholders in the field of activity. In particular, we are in close contact with our law enforcement agencies for the protection of sensitive facilities and thus to prevent disruptions in communication. Thanks to the collaborations carried out to prevent and clarify unwanted incidents, we have reached a very successful level in protecting our country's national resources, praise be to God.”
