
The fourth meeting of the Ministers of Information and Communication Technologies of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Uzbekistan under the name "ICT WEEK Uzbekistan-2022".
The meeting, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, was attended by OTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev, as well as ministers and deputy ministers responsible for information and communication technologies from member and observer states. Within the scope of the meeting, existing cooperation in the ICT field was evaluated regarding digital infrastructure, e-government and e-services, as well as the development of cybersecurity.
Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, who represented our country at the meeting, held bilateral meetings with Zamirbek Kozhomuratov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of Kyrgyzstan, within the framework of the meeting. Discussions were held on conducting joint work in the field of information and communication technologies, particularly on cybersecurity and the development of IT infrastructure. Deputy Minister Sayan emphasized the importance of investments and cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies.
Sayan also met with Sherzod Shermatov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications. In the meeting, mutual investments by technology companies of the two countries, IT training, and the implementation of joint projects were discussed.
At the end of the meeting, the “Memorandum of Understanding on the Development of the IT Field in the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States” was signed.
