The Eastern Anatolia Career Fair (DAKAF’25) was hosted by Van Yüzüncü Yıl University. The program was attended by Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, Governor and Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Ozan Balcı, academics, and numerous students.
BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, speaking at the fair, emphasized that young people assume a strategic role in the information age.
Karagözoğlu stated that individuals who know coding and cybersecurity, and develop artificial intelligence, are no longer just employees but now the ones who set the rules of the game, saying, “Today, behind the countries leading technology, there is a strong human resource. We are determined to build this human resource.”
Karagözoğlu used the following statements: “At this point, our greatest argument and our young people's greatest opportunity is BTK Academy. This way, we reach young people from every corner of Turkey. With BTK Academy, we offer more than 300 training contents in areas such as software, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. We have reached more than 2.5 million registered users.”
Stating that they will continue to support the youth at all times, Karagözoğlu said, “From R&D supports to internship opportunities, from entrepreneurship projects to training programs, we stand by our youth. From here, perhaps the young people who will develop Turkey's first domestic operating system and become the architect of the artificial intelligence engine will emerge. Just dream and work hard. This nation has built civilizations throughout history thanks to those who dream.”
Reiterating his confidence in the youth frequently during his speech, Karagözoğlu concluded with the words, “This task is not only for institutions or ministries, but also belongs to the youth, who are the true carriers of this vision. Our greatest goal in launching BTK Academy and many other projects is to pass this responsibility on to our youth. Every young person by our side on this journey will build not only their own life but also Turkey's digital future.”
