Transportation, Maritime and Communications Minister Binali Yıldırım stated that, as a result of the accelerated efforts for the 4.5G technology that will begin to be used on April 1, the total investment amount in the electronic communications sector as of the end of last year rose from 5.7 billion liras to 17.3 billion liras, marking a 205% increase compared to the previous year. Minister Yıldırım evaluated the Electronic Communications Sector data prepared by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) with an AA correspondent.
Yıldırım stated that, as of the end of 2015, 686 operators were providing various services to consumers with 1,088 authorizations in the sector, and announced that the sector's size had increased by 17.6% compared to the previous year, reaching 39.5 billion liras.
