Sayan, who entered professional life in 1995 at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, subsequently worked in chip production, mobile phone design, and R&D fields at private companies related to the sector in Turkey, Germany, and the United States after his university education.

Sayan, who served in the Silicon Valley Initiative and conducted studies on entrepreneurship, gave lectures on Information Law and New Trends in Information Technology at various universities in Turkey and Germany. Ömer Fatih Sayan has numerous articles published in various conferences and scientific journals related to his research topics. Between 2007 and 2014, he served as Prime Ministry Advisor and Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister.
