Information Request
Please read before making an information request
According to Law No. 4982 on the Right to Information:
Information requests must relate to information or documents held by the requested institutions and organizations or required to be held due to their duties (Article 7/1).
Institutions and organizations may give a negative response to requests for information or documents that can only be produced as a result of a separate or special study, research, examination, or analysis (Article 7/2).
Information or documents published by institutions and organizations or disclosed to the public through publications, brochures, announcements, and similar means cannot be subject to information requests (Article 8/1).

Procedure for Information Requests
Applications under the Law on the Right to Information can be made to public institutions in four ways.
- Sample petition published in the annex of the Regulation
- A legible and understandable petition (not required to be typed or computer-printed)
- Fax
What should be included in the petition of the person making the request?
If the applicant is a natural person,
- The name and surname of the applicant
- Signature
- Residence or business address
If the applicant is a legal entity
- The title of the legal entity
- Address
- Signature of the authorized person
- The request is made to the institution or organization holding the requested information or document, with a petition containing the authorization document. In the petition, the requested information or documents are clearly specified.
In order to ensure quick access to the information or document, the subject of the requested information or document, its date if any, number, which unit of the institution or organization it is requested from, and other necessary details are specified in the petition.
Requesting information via e-mail and fax
Pursuant to Article 10 of the Regulation; provided that the person's identity, signature, or the origin of the text can be legally determined with other information, applications can also be made electronically or through other communication means. In applications made by e-mail, the Turkish ID number provided by the applicant will be queried by the information access officer.
- Natural Persons: For applications made by natural persons via e-mail, the applicant's name and surname, residence or business address, and Turkish ID number for identity verification purposes must be specified, and the application must be made only to the e-mail address of the information access unit of the institution or organization holding the requested information or document, by filling out the form in the annex of the Regulation.
- For Legal Entities: Applications made by legal entities via e-mail must be made by specifying the legal entity's title and address, the Turkish ID number of the authorized person, along with the authorization document, to the e-mail address of the information access unit of the institution or organization holding the requested information or document, by filling out the form in the annex of the Regulation. The authorization document is transferred to the electronic environment using appropriate electronic means and sent.
Application petitions can also be sent to institutions and organizations via fax. However, in applications made by fax, the Turkish ID numbers of natural persons and authorized representatives of legal entities must also be specified.
Natural and legal persons making applications via electronic, mail, or fax must fill out the Information Request Form.
