
An iftar program was organized hosted by the Information Technologies and Communications Authority and sponsored by the Birlik News Union.
The iftar program was attended by Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, Ömer Budak, President of the Birlik News Union, numerous union members, and students.
In his speech at the iftar program, Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, emphasized the importance of civil society organizations. Karagözoğlu stated, “In particular, besides seeking the rights of public employees, in general, it is always on the side of democracy in national and global issues, acts in accordance with the definition of a democratic rule of law in labor and wage policies, and takes responsibility to the extent of its power in all matters concerning the society from which it emerges. The Birlik News Union, with over 17,000 members, is one of the most important civil society organizations of our time.” Karagözoğlu concluded his speech by saying, “The union, which was the first to receive authorization in the Directorate General of Press, Publications and Information and gained the title of ‘General Authorized’ one year later, has one of its officials in the Information Technologies and Communications Authority among the five public institutions. I would like to thank the Birlik News Union here for its joint actions and efforts to protect the rights and interests of its members, and for its work within the framework of moral rules and universal law to protect human rights and interests.”
