The President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK), Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, was a guest on 24 TV on April 1, 2016, and provided details about the new technology.
Speaking on the first day of the transition to the 4.5G service, which will be used in many parts of Turkey, Sayan said: “Our 4.5 million subscribers have started receiving the 4.5G service. Now, our subscribers will get speeds close to fiber internet levels at home with 4.5G.”
Sayan stated that BTK has taken measures to prevent problems in consumers' bills, emphasizing that an information message will be sent when quotas approach 80% and 100%. President Sayan particularly urged that all smartphones have a cellular data counter, requesting users to reset this counter on April 1, measure their monthly internet usage, and determine their tariffs based on this internet consumption measurement.
