
The World Radiocommunication Conference organized by ITU has concluded.
Today, in addition to communications, the International Telecommunication Union - Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R), which undertakes tasks such as frequency allocations related to broadcasting, meteorology, space research, navigation services, scientific research, and satellites, orbit and position determination services, and ensuring their operation without causing harmful interference, organizes the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) every three or four years with the participation of member state administrations and sector members for the purpose of updating international spectrum plans.
This year's conference, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, from October 28 to November 22, 2019, was represented by our country through the Turkish Delegation consisting of representatives from BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, Board Member Hacı Adnan Cengiz, Radio and Television Supreme Council under the presidency of Deputy President Gazali Çiçek, General Directorate of Communications of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Coastal Safety, General Directorate of State Airports Administration, Turkish Radio and Television Corporation, Türksat Satellite Communication Cable TV and Operation Inc., Türk Telekomünikasyon A.Ş., Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş., and ASELSAN A.Ş.
The World Radiocommunication Conference - WRC-19 concluded with an international agreement that meets global spectrum and satellite orbit demands, approved by the representatives of participating countries, and also signed by the Turkish Delegation representing our country and BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu.
