
The "First Meeting of the Turkey-Iran Cooperation Working Group in Information and Communication Fields," held in Iran's capital Tehran, was attended by expert teams led by Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Sayan and Iran's Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Settar Haşimi.
UAB Deputy Minister Sayan, noting that they visited Tehran with a large expert team within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union, established in 1860 and founded by Turkey, said, "E-commerce in Turkey grew by 42% last year, reaching a volume exceeding 10 billion dollars. Iran also has one of the largest platforms in Central Asia."
Stating that they evaluated cooperation opportunities between the two countries on the conscious and safe use of the internet, e-commerce, and e-government, Sayan said, "We will conduct studies on how our e-PTT AVM and the platforms here can cooperate, and I hope we will achieve beneficial results."
Iran's Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology Settar Haşimi stated in his speech at the meeting that his country has a great capacity in the field of information technology.
