
The “Seeds for the Future” (Seeds for the Future) education program, organized under Huawei's leadership, held its 2022 Turkey closing ceremony at the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
In the Turkey closing of the program, which was attended by thousands of students worldwide, Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, began his speech by saying, “I would like to state that I find this program organized by Huawei very valuable both for the awareness it creates at the international level and for providing individuals the opportunity to develop themselves in the field of information technology. On this occasion, I wholeheartedly congratulate our young people from our country who participated in the program and commend Huawei for successfully implementing this program, which it first launched in Turkey in 2015.”
President Karagözoğlu: Thanks to Information and Communication Technologies, We Can Easily Access Many Services in Our Economic and Social Lives
Emphasizing that the importance of information and communication technologies is increasing day by day, Karagözoğlu stated, “In the digital age we live in, thanks to information and communication technologies, we can easily access many services in our economic and social lives. We are increasingly benefiting from information technologies to make our lives more comfortable. When we look at the numbers, we see that the number of internet users worldwide has increased by 4% compared to the previous year, approaching nearly 5 billion. The number of mobile device users is 5.3 billion, and the number of M2M subscribers has reached 2.2 billion. It is projected that the information and communication technologies market size will reach 5 trillion dollars by 2025. It is estimated that 463 billion GB of data will be produced daily in 2026.”
Referring to the training activities conducted by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, President Karagözoğlu said, “As the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, we organize many programs to raise awareness and capacity in the software sector. Through our institution's education platform BTK Academy, we provide our citizens, especially children and young people, with free access to numerous trainings such as robotic coding, Python, and mobile app development to enhance their digital skills. Our efforts to expand BTK Academy activities across the entire country continue unabated. I believe that our trainings will yield beautiful results for our country along with the successes of our youth.”
Stating that training activities are important in training competent and qualified personnel in the field of information and communication, Karagözoğlu said, “Huawei's ‘Seeds for the Future Turkey Program,’ which we consider very valuable in building capacity in the field of information and communication technologies, is a project we highly value. Our young people who qualified for the program had the opportunity to develop themselves by receiving trainings not only in current technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud, Internet of Things, and Green Energy, but also in personal development areas such as strategic leadership and cultural awareness. I wholeheartedly congratulate our youth.
On this occasion, I once again convey my thanks to the valuable Huawei managers and employees who brought one of the very important education activities for the development of our country and our sector to our country. I wish that the program, which sows seeds for the future, will continue for many years with the same success, and I greet you all with respect, love, and affection.” With these words, he concluded his speech.
