Organized under Huawei's leadership, the “Seeds for the Future” program is held for the purpose of learning Chinese culture. Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, who spoke at the program's opening in Turkey attended by thousands of students worldwide, stated that the program is being successfully implemented and expressed their satisfaction in being part of this project.
Reminding that Turkey joined the program in 2015, Sayan said, “Each year, 10 of our students participate and receive two weeks of training in China. During these trainings, they conduct working visits to Huawei's research and development departments, experiencing technology firsthand. Additionally, in this program where they also have the opportunity to get to know Chinese culture, participants effectively serve as ambassadors for their countries in terms of cultural integration.”
Deputy Minister Sayan: This Program Will Provide Significant Contributions to Our Talented Youth
Sharing the information that 40 Turkish students have been selected for the program, Sayan said, “The program is growing, and this year, 50 university students and 20 high school students from our country will participate. They will follow live and pre-recorded courses for 8 days. They will receive training on topics such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Leadership. I believe that this valuable program will make significant contributions to the knowledge and skills of our talented youth in the field of information technology and will further strengthen the cooperation between participating countries and cultures. I wholeheartedly congratulate our young people who will participate in the program.”
Sayan added that he hopes the strong cooperation and friendship between countries will be further strengthened through such beautiful projects in the field of information technology.
President Karagözoğlu: Competent Human Resources in the Technology Field Play an Important Role
Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, also highlighted the contributions of such programs to development and transformation. Karagözoğlu stated, “With the increase in the number of connected devices, concepts like big data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing have become the most discussed ones. It is obvious that countries that can understand these concepts well and use technology effectively and efficiently will lead in every field. At this point, competent human resources play an important role. Huawei's 'Seeds for the Future Project,' which has been running since 2008 to further develop our youth's talents, experience technology, and build bridges between cultures, is an exemplary project. Our country's youth have been part of the project since 2015. In this year's event, high school and university students from various cities of our country will participate online in the Seeds for the Future event. I wholeheartedly congratulate everyone who contributes to this project,” expressing his satisfaction.
Emphasizing that the importance of training qualified and competent personnel in the information technology sector is increasing day by day, Karagözoğlu said, “Huawei's 'Seeds for the Future' project provides our youth with an important opportunity for intercultural interaction and talent development. This year, due to the pandemic, the program will be held online, and more of our youth are participating compared to previous years. I think such events by companies operating in the technology field, which allow experiencing technology, are important. As BTK, we continue our efforts to train our youth in the technology field and prepare them for the future. Through the trainings and events we offer with BTK Academy, we help them discover their talents and support them in building careers in information and communication technologies. Huawei also contributes to our BTK Academy events. The Coding Marathon we organized recently was a good example of collaboration. I thank them once again on this occasion,” concluding his speech.
