
Communication and telecommunications sector's leading representatives and students continue to come together at iftar programs hosted by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority with contributions from BTK Academy.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, AK Party Deputy Chairman Dr. Ömer İleri, and Information Technologies and Communication Authority President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, along with top executives in the sector and numerous students, attended the iftar programs organized with contributions from Vodafone, Turkcell, Türksat, and Türk Telekom.
Speaking at the iftar programs, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan made evaluations on developments in the communication sector, next-generation technologies, cybersecurity, and similar topics.
Stating that Turkey is advancing rapidly and confidently toward becoming a global center that produces and exports technology, Sayan said, “Works carried out in a wide range from mobile technologies to 5G, from artificial intelligence to the Internet of Things are positioning our country as a voice to be reckoned with on the international stage.”
Sayan stated, “Under the guidance of the National Technology Initiative and shaped by our President's Turkey Century Vision, our most important starting point in our efforts is undoubtedly domestic and national production. This is indispensable for technology. We will follow, adapt, take examples, but we will produce and use domestic and national technology as much as possible.”
Expressing that the development of domestic and national network infrastructures strengthens technological independence and contributes to closing the current account deficit by reducing external dependency, Sayan said, “National infrastructures minimize security risks and protect our data integrity. When it comes to domestic and national production, our strongest asset is our youth.”
Sayan, who said that Turkey's most important strength in its digital transformation is its young and dynamic population, said, “Every piece of knowledge you learn today, every skill you acquire, will be important building blocks in building tomorrow's Turkey. Our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's Turkey Century vision will gain meaning with your efforts to act with the awareness of domestic and national production.”
President Karagözoğlu: Developing a Domestic and National Software is Now a Very Valuable Job
Speaking at the programs, Information Technologies and Communication Authority President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu made evaluations on the digital transformation process.
Stating that information and technology are rapidly transforming society on the digital transformation journey, Karagözoğlu said, “While the communication infrastructure is advancing further every day, connection speeds are increasing thanks to technologies such as 5G, fiber infrastructure, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence; especially with 5G, communication is progressing toward a faster, smarter, and stronger path than ever before.”
Emphasizing that BTK is conducting studies with stakeholders in line with the requirements of the age, Karagözoğlu said, “At BTK Academy, we are preparing completely free trainings, courses, and various programs for our youth to be individuals who not only consume but also produce technology. I recommend you to follow our trainings and programs in the software field closely. Because the future is in software. Developing a domestic and national software is now a very valuable job.”
The iftar programs hosted by BTK will continue throughout the month of Ramadan.
