The "Solutions Provided by the Open Source World Event" was organized by the MSHOWTO Community under the auspices of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, who attended the opening of the program, emphasized that software has become the backbone of all sectors and is gaining importance day by day. Stating that there is little interest in open source software in particular, Karagözoğlu said, “There is a tremendous amount of effort in this field. Because building serious systems is required for this. Very beautiful works are being accomplished with these established systems. We have ensured our national security in the virtual realm with the software we developed using our own resources. Because we are talking about an area where we cannot afford even a minute of downtime.”
Stating that they are working to make faster progress as an institution, Karagözoğlu said, “In our institution, we use domestically and nationally developed software called AVCI, AZAD, and KASIRGA to detect cyber attacks and vulnerabilities and to transmit these detections to other relevant institutions. I believe that the number of these software will increase day by day with the efforts of all stakeholders in the sector. I am certain that especially our young people who are interested in this field will accomplish very correct works and carry us to a beautiful future in domestic and national production.”
