Information Technologies and Communication Authority
President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu attended the program organized with contributions from Dicle University and Huawei Turkey.
Karagözoğlu spoke about the importance of software.
In the program organized in collaboration with the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, Dicle University, and Huawei Turkey to provide opportunities for students studying in the Eastern and Southeastern provinces to develop themselves in the field of software, the planned works were discussed. Speaking at the opening of the program, BTK President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu stated that they are working to ensure that young people across the country benefit equally from the opportunities of technology.
Drawing attention to the importance of software for the future, Karagözoğlu said, “Undoubtedly, the software sector is a dimension of information and communication technologies with very high added value. Today, the internet browsers, websites, mobile applications, operating systems, our cars, the electronic devices we use in our homes—in short, all the technological products we interact with—are produced with ‘coding,’ which is the first step of software. Therefore, the world of the future is being built on coding and software.”
President Karagözoğlu: Being Domestic and National is Particularly Very Important in the Field of Software
Stating that they are raising their targets in software higher every day, Karagözoğlu said, “Of course, while doing this, we never overlook the importance of being domestic and national. Being domestic is very important in every field, perhaps, but especially in the software field. Because software means everything. The foundation of the production of everything in this meeting room today is software. Think of software like an airplane's black box. Just as a black box carries vital information for an airplane, software is that vital for countries.”
President Karagözoğlu also mentioned the studies conducted by BTK Academy. Referring to the “BTK Summer Camps” project, Karagözoğlu said, “We believe that both BTK Academy, the summer camps, and events like the ‘Coding Marathon’ we organize in our Institution play a part in training software developers and engineers that will propel our country to leap forward in technology and bring us to much better points economically, and this motivates us to work even more diligently on this path.”
Following the speeches, a cooperation protocol for Huawei AppCube coding training was signed in coordination with BTK and Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate of National Education.
