An iftar program was organized under the auspices of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, sponsored by Türk Haber-Sen.
The iftar provided for students was attended by Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority, Önder Kahveci, General President of Türkiye Kamu-Sen, Yücel Kazancıoğlu, General President of Türk Haber-Sen, and students.
BTK President Karagözoğlu began his speech by congratulating Türk Haber-Sen for their work. “We at BTK greatly appreciate the services of our union, which includes members from our institution,” said Karagözoğlu, expressing his satisfaction that the work is conducted within the framework of moral rules and universal law.
Karagözoğlu also spoke about technological progress and change in the world. Drawing attention to the fact that borders are disappearing with increasing globalization, Karagözoğlu said, “The most natural pioneer of this dizzying transformation is developments in the digital field. Our age is known as the information and technology age. At the same time, the production of information, its transformation into employment, and its ability to create commercial value have become an important area of competition. Undoubtedly, to achieve this, we need young people who have trained themselves and are qualified.”
Stating that their biggest goal is to carry Turkey into the future with domestic and national production, Karagözoğlu said, “Our nation, with its young population, is advancing confidently towards becoming the strongest nation in the world. The best companions on this journey are you young people, whom we trust in your knowledge, faith, and hope. Considering the age we live in, never forget the saying ‘Knowledge is power.’ Because we are now in an era where brain power, not muscle power, takes precedence. If you are equipped in terms of knowledge, no power can stand against you. I want to emphasize that to acquire the knowledge that will increase your power, you need to read a lot and do research. Because we have no way to recover lost time. In order to realize our country’s ideals, we need to make good use of our time.”
Emphasizing that as a nation we cannot remain mere spectators to the ongoing developments, Karagözoğlu concluded his speech by expressing his faith in the youth in this regard.
