Information Technologies and Communication Authority hosted the “BTK Academy Career Summit 2022” event, during which the “Success Stories Session with General Managers of E-Commerce Companies” was organized. Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, who moderated the panel, provided important advice to young people on building their careers.
Organized by BTK Academy to bring young people at the beginning of their careers together with representatives of Turkey's leading companies to guide them in making the right career plans and achieving their career goals, the event continued with the “Success Stories Session.” The session was moderated by Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
Speaking about his own personal life experiences and career journey, Karagözoğlu stated that he considers every experience he has had as a gain for himself. Karagözoğlu said, “You need to embrace every experience that the speakers here today and you yourselves have had, as if it will come before you tomorrow,” emphasizing that every positive or negative event experienced will influence future choices.
Referring to his own student life while giving advice to the young participants of the session, President Karagözoğlu said that he was curious about producing new content during his university years and tried to develop different projects using many alternative methods. Later, speaking about entering professional life, Karagözoğlu expressed that he was very open to learning at every step he climbed, and that he made an effort to learn new information and develop himself in every institution he worked.
Drawing attention to the importance of sharing in accessing and developing knowledge, Karagözoğlu used the expressions, “Knowledge gains value as it is shared. For this reason, we should be curious about producing new content to create a platform where knowledge can be shared.”
Stating that technology is advancing very rapidly in today's world, President Karagözoğlu expressed that much more equipped teams can be trained if boldness is shown in the use of new technologies.
Indicating that every success achieved and every capacity reached has a history, Karagözoğlu said that dedication is required to realize career goals. Expressing that a person should set new goals for themselves at every stage of career planning, Karagözoğlu said, “Every place you are in right now is a step for you; you will add something to yourselves in these places and move on to the next stage.”
Stating that he sees every person in his team as a value, President Karagözoğlu expressed that in every part of his managerial life, he aims to develop his existing team and take them to higher levels.
Noting that learning different languages is extremely effective in accessing knowledge in today's world, Karagözoğlu stated that as BTK, they established BTK Academy with the motivation to help young people overcome language barriers and thus began creating Turkish resources.
The session, moderated by President Karagözoğlu, was attended by Erkin Aydın, Financial General Manager of Hepsiburada, Nihal Dindar Akın, General Manager of N11, and Çağlayan Çetin, President of Trendyol Group.
