The 61st PT1 meeting of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC) is ongoing under the hosting of BTK.
Information Technologies and Communication Authority President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu and numerous domestic and foreign sector representatives attended the meeting.
In his speech at the opening of the program, Karagözoğlu provided information on 5G studies. Karagözoğlu stated, “As we all know, research and studies for 5G and beyond technologies, which are in the process of determining the international standards planned to be established in the 2020s, are continuing rapidly worldwide. Ensuring the proper definition of 5G bands in the near future is of vital importance”
Expressing that the works of ECC PT1, which define what the mobile industry can do, are of great importance, Karagözoğlu said, “The group responsible for mobile broadband communication services within CEPT is ECC Project Team 1 (ECC PT1), one of the subgroups of the Electronic Communications Committee (ECC). The ECC PT1 team is responsible for determining technical criteria for mobile broadband communication services (LTE, 5G), developing band plans, conducting electromagnetic compatibility studies, developing and reviewing ECC decisions and recommendations. Additionally, under PT1, European Common Proposals are being prepared for WRC agenda items related to mobile broadband. ECC PT1 and CEPT are fulfilling a great task in ensuring this”.
Karagözoğlu, who expressed his belief that the sessions in the coming days of the meeting will provide efficient platforms for participant spectrum managers and industry partners to exchange views, concluded his speech with the hope that the meeting will be productive.
