With the amendment made by BTK, IMEI change procedures can now be performed on phones brought from abroad accompanied by passengers.
The Information Technologies and Communication Authority's "Communiqué on Amending the Communiqué on the Registration of Devices Possessing Electronic Identity Information" has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.
TECHNICAL SERVICE AND IMPORTER COMPANIES WILL BE ABLE TO MAKE REGISTRATION CHANGE APPLICATIONS
With the amendment to the regulation regarding phones brought from abroad accompanied by passengers or other devices possessing electronic identity information (IMEI);
In cases where these devices are damaged, during change procedures due to warranty or repair through the importer, importer companies providing technical service in Turkey, in addition to the device owners, have been enabled to make registration change applications.
IMEI CHANGE FACILITATED
Thus, for devices purchased from abroad and previously registered, in the event of breakdown, IMEI change procedures have been facilitated, preventing potential consumer grievances.
Additionally, repair or replacement procedures by importers under warranty for devices purchased from abroad but previously registered have been made easier.
