Minister Binali Yıldırım: "The President and Board Members of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) conducted a very meticulous study regarding 4.5G."
Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Minister Binali Yıldırım held a press conference on the topic hours before the transition to 4.5G. BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan and BTK Board Members also attended the press conference held at the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications in Ankara.
Minister Yıldırım, who stated that the process has been followed by BTK from the very beginning, said the following on the matter: "With 4.5G technology, we will take one step closer to 5G. Compared to 3G, 4.5G offers 10 times more speed. In addition to the speed increase, 4.5G is an important step in terms of ensuring greater economic growth and achieving development targets in a shorter time. The process regarding this 4.5G accelerated within last year and the tender was held on August 26, 2015. BTK conducted a very meticulous study for the implementation of 4.5G. By evaluating the current communication sector, it thought about what kind of model we should put forward to create the fairest competitive environment. The process was also completed with a beautiful competition."
