
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited the Information Technologies Authority and received information about BTK Academy, which was launched to provide nationally and internationally recognized certification trainings for young people and job seekers, and to contribute to the employment of competent personnel needed by the sector.
Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that there are 1 million 848 thousand 837 registered users on BTK Academy, adding, “The weekly view count of our portal is approaching 700 thousand. Approximately 10 thousand new users join our portal every week. As the Ministry, we prioritize the development of our youth in the fields of informatics, technology, and innovation, just as in every other field.”
Minister Uraloğlu recalled that BTK Academy was opened to the public service in February 2020 at the BTK Main Campus with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, stating, “BTK Academy provides services with appropriate and up-to-date training methods to meet our country's need for trained human resources in the field of information technologies, as well as to achieve the desired breakthrough in science and technology within the scope of the National Technology Move initiated by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In this regard, we are accelerating and strengthening our efforts day by day.”
Stating that BTK Academy is a pioneering, renowned, reliable, and respected training center that contributes to Turkey and the sector with its scientific, technological, and continuously self-renewing educational approach, Uraloğlu said, “The programs carried out under BTK Academy are offered to everyone in need within the framework of social responsibility awareness, with the collaboration and contributions of our expert in-house trainers, as well as public institutions and organizations, universities, and all other national and international stakeholders.”
There Are 1 Million 848 Thousand 837 Registered Users on the BTK Training Portal
Referring to the trainings available under BTK Academy, Uraloğlu said, “On the BTK Academy Online Training Portal; there are a total of 125 thousand 611 minutes of online training under 9 main categories: Software World, K12 World, Systems World, Business World, Personal Development World, Design World, Safe Internet World, and Regulation World, with 234 topics. As of today, there are 1 million 848 thousand 837 registered users on the BTK training portal. The weekly view count of our portal is approaching 700 thousand. Approximately 10 thousand new users join our portal every week. As the Ministry, we prioritize the development of our youth in the fields of informatics, technology, and innovation, just as in every other field. With the comprehensive trainings offered by BTK Academy, we contribute to increasing the knowledge and expertise levels of our youth, raise their awareness in digital literacy and cybersecurity, and advance toward our goal of becoming an information society with realistic approaches.”
Minister Uraloğlu also touched upon the importance of the trainings provided by BTK Academy, saying, “BTK Academy is increasing the number of people it reaches day by day, also influenced by the rise of online trainings. Those who participate in the trainings receive both a certificate and acquire a profession upon completion. In addition, it organizes trainings in collaboration with companies operating locally and globally. Successful participants at the end of these trainings are provided with job opportunities. Thus, BTK Academy stands out with its structure that supports employment. The successes achieved make us proud.”
Noting that the provided trainings are not limited to these, Uraloğlu said, “As you know, if we live in the spiral of technology, we must also be aware of its harms. Considering this, BTK provides cybersecurity trainings to other public institutions, private organizations, and anyone who requests them. Our aim is to raise awareness of cybersecurity for everyone and to focus only on its benefits by eliminating the harms of technology. Therefore, I think all the trainings organized are very important.”
