BTK
Academy and Huawei R&D "Coding Marathon" has been completed.
At the opening of the “Coding Marathon” held in partnership with BTK Academy and Huawei R&D, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan stated that coding is a necessity rather than a luxury in today's world. Noting that efforts are underway at BTK Academy to train software developers and engineers who will propel Turkey into a new era in technology and enable us to reach much better economic positions, Sayan said, "In line with our President's 'National Technology Initiative,' which he launched and which serves as an extremely important guide for us, our country has risen to the position of a nation that primarily produces and exports software in the information and communication technologies sector, achieving accelerating growth rates and generating export revenues from it. This is a highly pride-worthy position for Turkey. To ensure the continuity of this pride-worthy and promising position, we are continuously raising our targets in software, developing ourselves, and working with all our might to reach the top league."
Deputy Minister Sayan: Our Most Important Assets Are Our Youth
Addressing the youth in his speech, Sayan said, "You, our most important assets, are advancing with determination and resolve on the path to becoming a productive generation. Every key you press on the computer brings you step by step closer to future professions such as 'Artificial Intelligence Engineering,' 'Blockchain Expertise,' 'Robot Technician,' 'Data Mining,' and 'Artificial Intelligence Teaching.' While we are aware that the future of the software sector will shape it, we also realize that the 'future' is actually only in your hands. Therefore, in addition to events like the 'Coding Marathon' that brought us together here today, we are carrying out many activities to develop our youth and children in software and contribute to their employment. At this point, our main goal is to develop high-export-potential, 'high value-added' technological products in the sector by having a large number of qualified human resources with advanced coding knowledge and skills."
President Karagözoğlu: The Need for Trained Human Resources in Software Stands Out
Information Technologies and Communication Authority President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu also attended the award ceremony. Stating that information technologies are present in every area of life and that there is a need for trained human resources in this field, Karagözoğlu said, "Today, the need for trained human resources in information technologies, especially in software, is increasingly prominent. As services are transferred to digital environments in every field from education to production, from banking to automotive, health, and security services, the demand for software is also increasing. The software sector is becoming one of the leading sectors of the new economic order focused on technology and knowledge. For countries like Turkey, with a young population and development potential, it offers significant advantages."
Speaking about the importance of national and international collaborations in advancing the information sector in our country further, Karagözoğlu said, "We value bilateral cooperation between our countries, especially in training human resources in information and communication technologies. The award-winning coding competition conducted in collaboration with Huawei under BTK Academy in two categories, 'Artificial Intelligence' and 'Huawei Mobile Services (HMS),' and the 'Huawei R&D Coding Marathon' are beautiful examples of our cooperation in this field. I would like to thank the Huawei authorities for their contributions to the Huawei R&D Coding Marathon, which saw intense participation from our youth."
Following the speeches, awards were presented to the participants who successfully completed the marathon and achieved rankings.
