We are filled with excitement and pride in celebrating the 96th anniversary of the great epic that symbolizes the rebirth of our esteemed nation and gives life to our Republic.
96 years ago, the Commander-in-Chief Field Battle concluded victoriously on August 30, 1922; our homeland was liberated from enemy occupation, and our nation attained the honor of freedom and independent living.
On this occasion, I once again commemorate with mercy and gratitude our esteemed martyrs, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, who bequeathed the homeland's soil to us with their lives and blood, and our veterans who demonstrated every material and spiritual sacrifice for this cause. I sincerely congratulate the great Turkish nation and our heroic Armed Forces on the 30 August Victory Day.
