
According to the decree published in the Official Gazette, BTK Board Member Figen Kılıç, appointed to the Second Presidency position, became the institution's first female president.
With Decree No. 2018/106 signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a new assignment was made at the Information Technologies and Communication Authority. Board Member Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu was appointed in place of Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, who had previously been appointed as Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure. Figen Kılıç was appointed to the Second Presidency position. Kılıç became the first woman appointed to the Presidency at BTK. Orhan Öge, Hacı Adnan Cengiz, and Rıdvan Kahveci were also appointed to the memberships.
Who is Figen Kılıç?
Figen Kılıç was born in Gaziantep in 1970. After completing her education at Selçuk University Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering, she completed her master's degree in Electrical-Electronics Engineering at Gebze Institute of High Technology, Faculty of Engineering.
Starting her professional career in 1995 at Istanbul Municipalities Information Processing Industry and Trade Inc. (BELBİM), Kılıç worked for many years as an R&D Engineer and Projects Coordinator, developing projects on Electronic Fare Collection Systems.
Between 2010-2014, Kılıç served as Project Management and Software Directorship at E-Kent Ödeme Sistemleri AŞ, one of Çalık Holding's companies, and worked at TURKCELL İletişim Hizmetleri AŞ between 2014-2015. Having received special training in Project Management, Test Engineering, and Process Management, Kılıç was appointed as a member of the Information Technologies and Communication Board in June 2015.
