As the Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK), we announced the final list of the 15 winners of the Cyber Star "Capture the Flag" competition organized by our Institution President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan from his social media account @ofatihsayan.
The Cyber Star "Capture the Flag" competition, organized by the Information Technologies and Communication Authority to identify young people who will support our country's cyber defense, started on January 20, 2017, and lasted 24 hours.
BTK President Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan announced the end of the competition from his Twitter account with the tweet: "TURKEY's CYBERSTARS, you are all amazing... Our participants all said together 'YES! I am ready to work for my country.' THANK YOU." Sayan announced the final list of the 15 award-winning individuals from his social media account @ofatihsayan with the tweet: "The results of the big competition are out. Thanks to the young people who participated in CYBER STAR, and congratulations to the winners."
THOUSANDS PARTICIPATED TO CAPTURE THE FLAG
In the Cyber Star competition, organized without any graduation or experience requirements to uncover the potential of our young people with high aptitude in cybersecurity and meet the need for experts who will support our country's cyber defense and say "Yes! Count me in" in training and camps in this field, 12,416 individual and 1,256 group participants registered.
SURPRISE ANSWER IN THE COMPETITION: ÖMER HALİS DEMİR
A total of 13 questions were asked in the Cyber Star competition. During the 24-hour period, participants trying to capture the flag in each question encountered a surprise in the answer to the fourth question. Şehit Ömer Halisdemir, the heroic soldier from the Special Forces Command, one of the symbolic figures of July 15, became the answer to the question that allowed capturing the flag in the Cyber Star competition.
WINNERS WILL BE REWARDED AND EMPLOYED
As a result of the competition where knowledge and skills were measured, without requiring graduation or work experience, some of the selected participants will be employed at the National Cyber Incident Response Center (USOM) under BTK, some will be directed to cyber security positions in the public sector; some will be provided with training opportunities. In addition, those who rank high will be gifted gold coins of different amounts.
FINAL RESULTS ANNOUNCED
