A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services of Serbia and the Information Technologies and Communication Authority.
During President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s visit to Serbia, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Belgrade between the Information Technologies and Communication Authority and its counterpart in Serbia, the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL), with the aim of further strengthening the existing cooperation in the field of electronic communications and postal services.
The existing Memorandum of Understanding, signed between the two Institutions in Istanbul in 2013, was reviewed and revised in accordance with changing conditions. The updated text, reflecting the latest developments, was signed by Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Institution on behalf of BTK, and Dragan Kovačevıć, Chairman of the Board on behalf of RATEL.
The areas of cooperation outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding include the regulation of electronic communications markets, information technologies and applications, the regulation of postal services, and other matters mutually agreed upon. Within these areas, it is envisaged that the two institutions will share information, documents, experience, and expertise, consult on various matters, and organize joint workshops, seminars, and study visits.
The aforementioned Memorandum of Understanding serves as an indicator of the deepening cooperation between the two countries in the field of electronic communications and postal services, as well as the parties' intentions to further develop their existing friendly relations. Furthermore, it is envisaged that the relations between BTK and RATEL, which are currently proceeding on a basis of mutual benefit, will gain momentum and be placed on a more solid foundation.
