Information Technologies and Communication Authority hosted children with children's book author Nehir Yarar.
Expressing great pleasure in writing and sharing her writings with children, Yarar said, “I have actually been interested in writing for a very long time. I was a child who dreamed a lot, I used to dream excessively. I started my writing journey during my teaching period. But I never thought it appropriate for anyone else to see the pieces I wrote and I never considered sending them to a publisher. Upon the guidance of a teacher friend, I sent my writings to publishers. Surprisingly, all of them were accepted. With that morale, I revised my other works and sent them, and quite a few of my works were presented to children's appreciation,” she recounted how she started this work.
Drawing attention to the fact that being a primary school teacher was a great advantage for her, Yarar said, “Being a primary school teacher made it easier for me to reach children's level. I have been working since 1999. Living among them already develops one's observation skills. When I write, I actually act as an interpreter of their feelings. Therefore, since I am constantly with children, I grasp more quickly what they like, what they don't like, and what they are interested in. In this regard, I see myself as luckier than other children's book authors.”
She expressed her wish for such an application to serve as an example to all
state institutions, stating, “The children were very interested, and such an
application should exist in other state institutions as well. If children
constantly meet the authors of the books they hold, their perspectives will
also change. In today's event, we touched on many different things. We created
an environment where children could express themselves. This way, they became
aware of some problems. Because the writing adventure begins with identifying a
problem. But they complained that they couldn't find time to read books. I hope
they can find more time for themselves,” she said.
