The Information Technologies and Communication Authority (BTK) has revised the "Regulation on Internet Bulk Usage Providers" and published it in the Official Gazette, bringing it into force.
The amendments to the Regulation on Internet Bulk Usage Providers aim to protect children from illegal and harmful content on the internet and to combat crime and criminals in places providing collective internet usage.
With the implemented regulations, in order to protect children from illegal and harmful internet content, it has become mandatory to use Safe Internet Service along with a filter program suitable for the purpose in internet cafes.
In addition, for combating crime and criminals, internet bulk usage providers are obliged to store users' access logs in electronic media for two years, and with the amendment made, the installation of a high-resolution night vision camera recording system in internet cafes for security purposes and the storage of recordings for ninety days have been regulated.
