Information Technologies and Communications Authority-led 5G studies include a new program among those organized.
At the Information Technologies and Communications Authority Central Campus, President Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu met with students accepted under the 5G and Beyond Joint Postgraduate Support Program for 5G studies.
President Karagözoğlu, explaining the program's purpose as conducting studies in the 5G field and positioning our country as a pioneer through patent efforts in this area, stated the importance of 5G as follows: “The most important issue in the IT field is ensuring continuity. 5G is currently a field with very few definitions, one that you will define. When we talk about autonomous vehicles today, uninterrupted data is much more important. If a robot is to be controlled from very far away, we have no tolerance even for millisecond errors.”
Emphasizing that contributions will be made to academic studies in this field through the students' efforts, Karagözoğlu said: “We will achieve unity together with you. When we bring all the pieces together, we will form a whole. 5G Valley is a very valuable project. With your efforts, we will use the 5G we developed ourselves, not the one we purchased. It's a challenging but enjoyable topic. You are entering a field with very few articles. Because it's a new field worldwide.”
President Karagözoğlu later attended the 5G Valley Open Test/Network Infrastructure Information Meeting.
